We’re open for submissions on May 1st – today! So if you’re a writer and you think your stories would be a good fit for us look at our guidelines then email them through to contact@wyldblood.com. They’ll need to be between 500-5,000 words (or 15-40,000 words for novellas) and we’ll pay £0.01 per word (flat rate £100 for novellas). And they’ll need to be science fiction or fantasy. We’re particularly short of flash fiction at the moment – so short and sweet will hit the spot.
In other news we’ve got a new issue coming out on May 15th, so watch out for pre-orders soon. And we have a series of novellas coming out monthly from September – we’ll be sharing a full publishing schedule for the rest of the year very soon.
We had hoped to be publishing new flash fiction monthly by now, but we’ve not stocked our story reserves enough yet. Once we do, we’ll be back with regular science fiction and fantasy. To speed us up, send us some great flash fiction that we have to publish!
Finally, because we’re getting so many stories for our submissions calls, we could do with another couple of First Readers. These are unpaid roles but a great way to find out what ends up in a slush pile – and what emerges from it with a sale. Plus you get to read some fantastic fiction before anyone else gets a chance to. If you’d like to join our team let me know at mark@wyldblood.com
